about
THE AGENT is a comedy about hope, reinvention and mistaken identity and is writer/director Daniel Krige's first foray into short form comedy. A seasoned filmmaker and actor, Daniel directed the feature films WEST and INHUMAN RESOURCES. He also has a number of award-winning short films under his belt, including OUR FERAL FRIENDS and PROVIDENCE PARK; plus an impressive list of acting credits.
The idea for THE AGENT came about when Daniel, Carla Bonner and Claire Lovering were sharing a house in Sydney's East. Daniel and Carla had wanted to work together for some time, and Daniel had been toying with the idea of making something around a case of mistaken identity for a while. Greg Hatton was the final member of the key cast to join. Daniel was first introduced to Greg by fellow actor Anthony Hayes, over a poker game at Greg's house.
"The planets aligned. I found myself sharing a house with two of the most talented actors I know in Carla and Claire", Daniel said. "And I had this idea that was the perfect fit for the three of us. I sat down and wrote the scripts in a few days, and we began rehearsing in the lounge room, rewriting as we went. Carla, Claire and Greg had a lot of good ideas during rehearsals that ended up in the final scripts."
THE AGENT was filmed over three days at two locations in Surry Hills, New South Wales, with Daniel taking the reins as writer, director, producer and lead performer alongside Carla Bonner.

"It was such a joy to work with Carla," Daniel said. "She's the consummate professional. And when you combine her immense talent with the powerhouse performers that are Claire Lovering and Greg Hatton, well, it's kind of like a dream come true for a director".
